Social Networking with Care

Most of us have signed up to at least one online profile. Profiles allow site members to include their biography, website link, contact details, business information and a picture, and it is this profile that can engage but also put off a potential client. Social networking is now a rudimentary part of marketing basics but should be handled with care. Many of us have multiple online profiles that are left only partially completed or hold conflicting information. This does not look good to outside parties. The profile should be engaging and professional as it is this that will help others decide whether or not they want to work with you.

Profiles should be seen as ideal platforms from which you can showcase your services and promote yourself as fully as the site will allow. This is your ideal PR opportunity! You can add in links not just to your website but to other sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter and your local business directory. Make the most of these pages and remember to keep them updated and current but… proceed with care!
